In Ontario the rates are as follows:

Up to $55,000 is .5 % of property value
$55,000 to $250,000 is 1 % of  property value
$250,000 to $400,000 is 1.5 % of  property value
$400,000 up is 2 % of  property value

In addition to Ontario Land Transfer Tax, there is also the Toronto Land Transfer tax
